We finally had our concert yesterday! WOO.
Left halfway through school.
Actually only 15 minutes la.. but its DNT.. SO you get the idea.
We changed into our PE and scrambled downstairs to buy food.
Was feeling VERY full but still i forced myself to eat.
Cause I know I need food to play well.
Then after that we all went up to the band room and took our cases, bla bla bla.
Moved everything down to the bus bay, SL's did a check on instruments.
And at 1.40, we were ready to go!
All sat in buses.
Sat with Pris in the bus.
She wasn't feeling well but was okay after that.
Passed by The Singapore River, saw the Merlion, Singapore flyer, and the IR as well! WOO.
Then saw this huge amazing white building.
I was like. Wazzat?
My friend was like: VCH?
Me; OH.
So we went inside.
The front look very glam. But the alley leading to the backstage was uh.
Kinda unglam.
Algae grew on walls and stuff. You get the idea la.
then we went in and got our own clarinet room.
Started setting up instruments and settled down.
Mr Er screamed at us at the circle seats about our seating arrangement.
We adjusted here and there, here and there.
Then after that kept practicing and practicing.
Finally, dinner arrived :D
We changed into our band uniform and went to the Statue of the Black Stamford Raffles and started sitting around that area looking so unglam
But only got like one Macchicken and one pack of milo.
Took it anyway. Grateful got food can le.
Munched away, saw many people arriving, Yvonne's family and some of her realtives.
My mummy and sis and aunt also arrived. :D
They looked awesome, btw.
Then everyone went in the settle down while the band cleared up the area and ate finish quickly.
Then went inside the hall and waited for the time to go up.
When it finally did, the lights dimmed at the audiences' seats and the lights lit up on the stage where we were.
We didn;t play but the audience started clapping like crazy. LOL
Then Mr Er came onstage and we played the fanfare for the guest of honour.
Then played through first half. SHIT.
I didn't think we did very well.
EVen cher say our sound cannot come out >:(
Not happy.
Played clarinet choir.
I think we did great! :D
Mom and company kept waving at me and smiling.
BUT I'M NOT SUPPOSED TO RESPOND. Teacher say its concert ettiquette. Must look professional and demure! LOL
Then came second half.
I think we did better there.
Prince of Egypt was not bad!
TOTORO WAS AWESOME! I mean like seriously among all the songs we've played, Totoro was the best played! Cute song at the start which then morphed into a grand finale.
Was freaking awesome.
Even sis said she liked that one the best :D
Then had the decication song D:
Bye bye seniors! We're gonna miss you )':
Was supposed to end but crowd kept screaming encore.
So we played American Graf.
They shouted another encore and so we played disco 70s.
WITH GIMMICKS >:)
I felt the whole concert was really a success! I hope all band members enjoyed this concert!
Farewell to all the seniors! I really hope you guys do well in your o-levels and future studies!
